Wild Cats Philosophy
- Our philosophy on playing time and game
situations:
- Players will be exposed to all player
positions they are personally interested in.
- Player positions during games may be
altered due to playing conditions.
- All players are expected to be at the
field at least 15 minutes prior to the game start time in order to
get game ready (this includes mentally).
- Players and coaching staff will gather 15
minutes prior to game time for a pre-game team talk at the
field.
- Team talk will be interactive
discussions where the players get to view their concerns and
the coaching staff will emphasize game strategies
- Line-ups will be established.
- Players are encouraged to drink lots of
water.
- Parents are expected to behave properly.
- Remember that your behavior reflects
on the team, coaching staff, and your child.
- Our philosophy on practices:
- Player participation is essential to the
development of both the individuals as well as the team
- Practices are the player’s chance to learn
new techniques
- We will split the practice up into skating
techniques, short drills (including ball handling, passing,
shooting, goal tending, etc.) and scrimmages
- We will try to keep a fast pace so that
the players maintain interest.
- Players are expected to follow directions
- Players are expected to participate in all
drills and scrimmages during a practice session.
- When the whistle blows all players are
expected to stop what ever they are doing and to listen.
- When a coach is speaking it is expected
that all players will be quietly listening.
- Our philosophy on player behavior and
sportsmanship
- We expect that all players will adhere to
the following:
- NO FIGHTING
- At any time (this includes, but is
not limited to all parents and games).
- NO USE OF VULGAR LANGUAGE
- The coaching staff will deal with
any issues with the referees.
- Only the designated team captain
and assistant captains are allowed to discuss any play
or call with the referees.
- NO GIVING THE COACHING STAFF A HARD
TIME
- Players must also follow the
“24-Hour Rule”
- NO INTENTIONALLY TRYING TO HURT
SOMEONE
- This type of conduct is not
acceptable for any reason.
- ALWAYS SHOW GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP
- To fellow teammates, and coaching
staff.
- To the opposing teammates and
coaching staff.
- Referees, score keepers, fans,
etc.
Code of Ethics for all Coaches of the Redford
Soccer Club
1. I will abide by the Code of Ethics for Parents and Adult
Supporters of the Redford Soccer Club.
2. I will do my best to learn the age-appropriate
fundamental skills, teaching and evaluation techniques, and
strategies of soccer.
3. I will become familiar with the rules of soccer, and the
rules of the league. I will know procedures for game days
including filling out any game reports.
4. I will be responsible for my team supporters' conduct on
the filed and be the last adult to leave the field after my team's
games and practices.
5. I will uphold the authority of referees who are assigned
to the games in which I participate. I will assist them in
every way to conduct fair and impartial games. Only the coach
may request an explanation from referees in a calm and reasonable
manner.
6. I will learn the strengths and weaknesses of my players
so that I might place them into situations where they have a maximum
opportunity to achieve success. I will let players try all
positions that interest them through a system of position rotation.
7. I will conduct practices and games so that all players
have an opportunity to improve their skill level through active
participation. I will strive to provide the opportunity for a
minimum 50% playing time at each game for each player.
8. I will communicate to players and their supporters the
rights and responsibilities of individuals on our team and in our
Club.
